Relationship Issues?  Learn how these two negotiate big obstacles

In “Notting Hill”, William Thacker (Hugh Grant) owns a travel bookstore in the quaint London borough of Notting Hill.  His life is quiet and predictable, until he runs into (literally) the most famous female movie star in the world, Anna Scott (Julia Roberts).

They become friends, and as he introduces her to more aspects of a simple life, they begin to fall in love.  The media and rumors threaten to tear them apart and unfortunately succeed in some situations.

William and Anna must choose if their relationship is worth fighting for.

This romantic comedy has been recomended by our friends Chelsea & Ed Turville.

In the director, David Lean’s, 1945 classic comedy, “Blithe Spirit”, Noel Coward provides a witty perspective on the domestic complications that arise (from the dead) when widower and newlywed Rex Harrison’s passed spouse just wont accept that it’s over.

Aggravating Parrot Chills Out For Thanksgiving.

Recently we received a parrot as a gift.

The parrot had a very bad attitude and an even worse vocabulary.  Every word out of it’s beak was rude, obnoxious and laced with profanity.  Now we understood why it had been given to us.

We tried and tried to change the bird’s attitude by consistently saying only polite words, playing soft music and anything else we could think of to “clean up” the bird’s vocabulary.

Finally, I was fed up and yelled at the parrot.  The parrot yelled back.  There was a fight and I shook it but it only got angrier and even ruder.  So, in desperation, I grabbed the bird and shoved it in the freezer, slammed the door, and fumed.

For a few minutes the parrot squawked and kicked and screamed.

Then suddenly there was total quiet.  Not a peep was heard for over a minute.
My wife, fearing that I’d hurt the bird, quickly opened the freezer.

The parrot calmly stepped out onto her outstretched arms and said,

“I believe I may have offended you with my rude language and actions.  I’m sincerely remorseful for my inappropriate transgressions and I fully intend to do everything I can to correct my rude and unforgivable behavior.”

We were stunned at the change in the bird’s attitude and were about to ask what had made such a dramatic change in his behavior, when it said: “May I ask what the turkey did?”

We don’t know who wrote this one.

If you haven’t seen Bret McKenzie and Jemaine Clement, aka “Flight Of The Conchords”, before,
they are transients from some parallel universe of humor.
Good for you if you have nostalgia issues.
